Spring Flower Show

Each spring, more than 250,000 tulips and daffodils blanket Oglebay in vibrant color as flowering trees and curated gardens burst to life. Stroll scenic paths lined with blossoms, take in sweeping views of rolling hills, and soak in the beauty of the season.

Throughout the month, the park celebrates spring with themed experiences — from garden strolls and seasonal dining to live music, animal enrichment at the Good Zoo, and hands-on programming across the property.

The celebration wraps up on Saturday, May 2, with the Wine & Jazz Journey, an afternoon of strolling, sipping, and smooth jazz set among the blooms throughout the park.

From Grow Lab to Table & More

Spring flavors take center stage at Oglebay. Using advanced hydroponic technology, our on-site Grow Lab cultivates thousands of greens and edible blooms, harvesting more than 200 pounds each week. Throughout the month, chefs at Skyline Kitchen & Bar and Trace Chophouse will feature seasonal specials enhanced with edible flowers, fresh sprouts, and garden-grown accents—bringing vibrant color, fresh flavor, and a beautiful connection to the season.

Celebrate the flavors of the season during Springtime Display Kitchen Demos, held each Saturday from April 4 through May 2 at 3 PM in the Display Kitchen inside Skyline Kitchen & Bar. These complimentary live demonstrations highlight fresh spring dishes inspired by the season, featuring herbs and greens grown in Oglebay’s Grow Lab, an innovative hydroponic garden.

Chefs will showcase how these locally grown ingredients inspire vibrant seasonal recipes while sharing tips you can try at home.

Spring is a season of growth — and that includes our animal family. Visit the Good Zoo, West Virginia’s only AZA-accredited zoo, to experience blooming habitats and botanical themed enrichment activities designed for our animals to explore and enjoy.

Look for signs of new life, attend keeper talks about spring babies and wildlife growth, and stop by our pollinator discovery station to learn how flowers and animals thrive together. There’s no better time to connect with nature.

Watch the beauty of Oglebay in bloom come to life on canvas. Every Saturday at 1 PM, April 4 through May 2, a plein air painter will capture scenic views from the gardens and throughout the park. The artist will paint in a different location each week, inviting guests to gather, watch the creative process, and enjoy art inspired by the season.

Saturdays & Sundays | 10 AM – 6 PM

Springtime at Schenk Lake is full of fresh-air fun. Glide across the water on a swan boat, cast a line for an afternoon of fishing, or explore the Adventure Center.

Even putt-putt golf gets a seasonal refresh, with floral touches woven throughout the course. It’s one more way to revel in the wonder of the season.

Saturday, May 2 | 1 - 5 PM

Sip, stroll, and celebrate the grand finale of the Spring Flower Show with an afternoon of live jazz and curated wines on Saturday, May 2. Begin your journey on the Lakeview Patio, then hop aboard a trolley as you travel through the park, discovering jazz bands performing at scenic stops along the way.

The tour returns to Lakeview Patio, where the celebration continues with live music. Extend the evening with a dinner reservation at Skyline Kitchen & Bar or Trace Chophouse. Must be 21+ to attend.

Take a little piece of the season home with you by exploring Oglebay’s charming shops. Stop by Farmhouse Sweets & Treats for a scoop of ice cream before taking a stroll around the Hilltop, or browse the handcrafted pieces at Carriage House Glass to find the perfect spring-inspired treasure.

Fridays & Saturdays | 7 – 10 PM
