Wild Summer Fun

Our zoo summer camps for kids ages 4–15 offer hands-on activities, exciting experiments, and unforgettable experiences at Oglebay Good Zoo—the state’s only nationally-accredited zoo—right here in Wheeling, WV. Learn about wildlife, conservation, and biology in a fun, interactive way.

Parent Guide

QUICK CAMP INFORMATION

Registration

  • Registration is online
  • Early bird: 10% off by March 31
  • Members: 10% off for children covered under membership
  • Late registration: $15 extra (within 7 days of start)

Before & Aftercare

  • Available 7:30–9 AM and 3–5:30 PM
  • $12 Per Hour
  • Must schedule 1 day in advance

Cancellations

  • 2+ weeks ahead: Full refund
  • 7–13 days: 50% refund
  • Under 7 days: No refund
  • Zoo cancellations: Full refund or reschedule

What to Bring

  • Weather-friendly play clothes
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Lunch (or pre-order)
  • Water bottle
  • Swimsuit/towel (for pool camps)
  • Sunscreen (child must apply)

Lunch & Snacks

  • Campers are permitted to bring packed lunch
  • $7.75 per day boxed lunch option available
  • Snacks and water provided
  • No concession stand access during camp

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

  • Morning check-in: Zoo entrance
  • Afternoon pickup: Zoo theater door or pool lawn
  • Photo ID is required for pick-up

Swimming Info

  • Some camps include pool visits (grades 2+ only)
  • Kids can opt out with half-day option
  • Bring swimsuit, towel, and labeled sunscreen

  • $22 (optional) | Order by July 1 when registering
