This summer, Oglebay celebrates America 250 with festive experiences across the park from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Throughout your visit, you’ll discover patriotic touches woven into dining, recreation, entertainment, and family activities designed to bring everyone together in celebration of summer.

Enjoy glowing red, white, and blue displays, live music throughout the week, all-American flavors, family-friendly activities, and unforgettable moments around every corner.

Whether you’re spending the day on the golf course, relaxing lakeside, exploring the Good Zoo, or gathering with loved ones over dinner and entertainment, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Settle in for an afternoon of smoky flavors and summertime tradition at Skyline Kitchen & Bar with our All-American BBQ Sundays. This hearty seasonal feature includes a half rack of tender, slow-cooked ribs served with classic backyard favorites including baked beans, creamy cole slaw, warm cornbread, and whipped honey butter.

Celebrate summer with festive fun throughout Oglebay. Enjoy patriotic décor around the park, red, white, and blue mini golf, lakeside activities at Schenk Lake, and a glowing rock climbing wall illuminated in Americana colors every Friday night from 8–10 PM, May 29 - August 14.

Take advantage of our Your Summer, Your Park 2 for $40 Activity Wristband special available Sunday through Wednesday, making it even easier to experience family-friendly attractions and summer adventure across the park all season long.

Celebrate America 250 at the Oglebay Good Zoo with a month of patriotic, family-friendly activities every Friday in July. Learn about native wildlife, meet animal ambassadors, enjoy hands-on crafts and games, and discover how enrichment supports animal care, wellness, and play.

Kids can create a bald eagle-themed craft to take home while learning more about one of America’s most iconic native species.

Native Speicies Discovery Day
Learn about native wildlife including the bobcat, eastern hellbender, bald eagle, and red wolf through interactive games and activities. Guests can take home themed coloring sheets filled with fun animal facts — or color them on-site at our activity table.

Patriotic Zoo Scavenger Hunt
Pick up a scavenger hunt at the zoo entrance and explore the Good Zoo to complete the challenge. Turn in your completed hunt to receive a sweet prize.

Native Reptile Meet & Greet
Meet one of the zoo’s ambassador reptiles native to the United States and learn about common reptiles found in our region, including what to do if you encounter one in the wild.

All activities will take place outside the Conservation Center unless otherwise noted. In the event of rain, activities will move to the Red Wolf viewing area.

Experience Par 3 in a whole new light this summer with Patriotic Putts & Play, a nighttime golf experience designed for laid-back summer fun every Friday at dusk. As the course comes alive after dark, guests can enjoy illuminated play and festive colored golf balls.

Before teeing off, stop by Route 88 Burgers & Brew for for burgers, cold drinks, and casual summer favorites. Then keep the evening going with Firepit Fridays and live music every Friday night for the perfect summer night under the stars.

Stop by Sarita’s Coffee & Goods for refreshing seasonal sips inspired by the colors of summer. Featuring berry flavors and festive red, white, and blue flair, these rotating refreshers are the perfect way to cool off during a day at the park.

Located inside the Glass Museum at Carriage House Collections on the Hilltop, this special exhibition — presented in partnership with Oglebay Institute from June 14 through January 3, 2027 — celebrates the artistry and tradition of American glassmaking.

Start your Fourth of July strong with a festive Firecracker 5K run/walk at 10 AM . Whether you’re racing or strolling, bring the energy and come dressed in full USA spirit — think Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty, your favorite era of American history or classic red, white and blue. As communities across the country celebrate America 250, Wheeling Park invites you to gather for an unforgettable evening inspired by the traditions, flavors, and connections that bring us together. The All-American Street Dinner combines festive American fare, live entertainment, and warm community spirit in a relaxed open-air setting designed to celebrate our nation, our community, and the traditions that make Wheeling Park special.  

Set beneath a canopy of red, white, and blue, guests will enjoy a chef-inspired family-style dinner featuring classic American favorites with a creative twist. Throughout the evening, live music, culinary experiences, and interactive moments create an atmosphere that feels relaxed, festive, and full of connection.  

From the first cocktail to the final toast, this is more than dinner — it’s a celebration of summer, community, and the moments that become lasting traditions.
