Celebrate America 250 at the Oglebay Good Zoo with a month of patriotic, family-friendly activities every Friday in July. Learn about native wildlife, meet animal ambassadors, enjoy hands-on crafts and games, and discover how enrichment supports animal care, wellness, and play.

Patriotic Animal Enrichment & Bald Eagle Keeper Talk
Create red, white, and blue enrichment items for the animals to enjoy while learning how enrichment supports animal care and play. Then, join a special Bald Eagle keeper talk at 2 PM.

Eagle Craft Workshop
Kids can create a bald eagle-themed craft to take home while learning more about one of America’s most iconic native species.

Native Speicies Discovery Day
Learn about native wildlife including the bobcat, eastern hellbender, bald eagle, and red wolf through interactive games and activities. Guests can take home themed coloring sheets filled with fun animal facts — or color them on-site at our activity table.

Patriotic Zoo Scavenger Hunt
Pick up a scavenger hunt at the zoo entrance and explore the Good Zoo to complete the challenge. Turn in your completed hunt to receive a sweet prize.
Friday, July 31 | 12 - 1 PM
Native Reptile Meet & Greet
Meet one of the zoo’s ambassador reptiles native to the United States and learn about common reptiles found in our region, including what to do if you encounter one in the wild.
All activities will take place outside the Conservation Center unless otherwise noted. In the event of rain, activities will move to the Red Wolf viewing area.
