Salute to Patriotism

Kick off Fourth of July weekend at Salute to Patriotism on Friday, July 3, with lakeside entertainment, family fun, and a patriotic sky spectacle. Enjoy a full weekend of live music, all-American eats, poolside parties, fireworks, and festive experiences—ending with a lively finale of brews, bites, and entertainment. Salute to Patriotism is presented by Community Bank and Schenk Charitable Trust.

Friday, July 3
Kick off the celebration lakeside with live music, family fun, inflatables, a skydiving demonstration, foam party, and a spectacular fireworks display over the lake.

Saturday, July 4
Keep the celebration going with a full day of festive fun, including a Firecracker 5K, lakeside activities, poolside music and games, and live evening entertainment overlooking the lake.

Sunday, July 5
End the weekend on a high note with Sunday Funday Americana Beach Celebration, featuring a Beach Boys tribute band, classic summer competitions, beach-themed games, and family fun throughout the day.

The celebration begins at Schenk Lake on Friday, July 3, with an unforgettable evening of lakeside fun and patriotic festivities. Gather with family and friends to enjoy live music, classic American cookout favorites, and interactive experiences designed for all ages.

From 3–6:30 PM, DJ Daner will kick off the fun with family-friendly music and entertainment throughout the evening. From 3–9 PM, explore the Inflatable Fun Zone, a massive family playground featuring obstacle courses, slides, and larger-than-life inflatables. As the evening continues, cool off and join the excitement at the Foam Party from 6–8 PM, where music, energy, and mountains of foam create a one-of-a-kind summer experience.

At 7 PM, settle in for the Independence Day Concert featuring MSM before looking to the skies for a spectacular fireworks extravaganza over Schenk Lake. It's the perfect way to kick off an unforgettable Fourth of July weekend at Oglebay.

Start your Fourth of July strong with a festive Firecracker 5K run/walk at 10 AM . Whether you’re racing or strolling, bring the energy and come dressed in full USA spirit — think Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty, your favorite era of American history or classic red, white and blue. The more patriotic, the better.

On Friday, July 3, the celebration takes center stage at Schenk Lake with a high-energy performance by MSM, setting the tone for an unforgettable night of music, community, and lakeside celebration.

The weekend concludes with Sunday Funday on July 5, featuring a Beach Boys Tribute Band—bringing feel-good, nostalgic summer hits to close out the celebration in true American style.

Gather with friends and family for an Americana beach-inspired celebration filled with festive activities, entertainment, and plenty of ways to play. 4:30 PM: Kick off the evening with the laid-back sounds of live steel drum music in the Formal Garden. Throughout the Oglebay Amphitheater, guests can enjoy festive beach balls, complimentary red, white, and blue leis, and a fun-filled atmosphere that captures the spirit of summer.

6 PM: The fun continues with crowd-favorite competitions and family activities, including:

Stroll through thoughtfully curated displays inspired by the colors of our nation, and take in a landscape that invites you to slow down, explore, and appreciate the natural beauty of an American summer.

Located inside the Glass Museum at Carriage House Collections on the Hilltop, this special exhibition — presented in partnership with Oglebay Institute from June 14 through January 3, 2027 — celebrates the artistry and tradition of American glassmaking.

Discover pieces inspired by the colors and spirit of our nation, alongside artifacts from Wheeling’s pioneer days — when this region served as a gateway to the West. From commemorative flasks honoring Lafayette and Washington to early pewter, stoneware, and handcrafted goods, this collection reflects the everyday objects that shaped American life and legacy.

As communities across the country celebrate America 250, Wheeling Park invites you to gather for an unforgettable evening inspired by the traditions, flavors, and connections that bring us together. The All-American Street Dinner combines festive American fare, live entertainment, and warm community spirit in a relaxed open-air setting designed to celebrate our nation, our community, and the traditions that make Wheeling Park special.  

Set beneath a canopy of red, white, and blue, guests will enjoy a chef-inspired family-style dinner featuring classic American favorites with a creative twist. Throughout the evening, live music, culinary experiences, and interactive moments create an atmosphere that feels relaxed, festive, and full of connection.  

From the first cocktail to the final toast, this is more than dinner — it’s a celebration of summer, community, and the moments that become lasting traditions.
