Oglebay Renovations ~

Oglebay’s Wilson Lodge

Oglebay is currently undergoing extensive and exciting renovations to Wilson Lodge, all of which are part of a multiphase evolution to enhance the experience of community and resort guests.

Upon arrival, guests will soon enjoy a redesigned curbless entrance, accessible for guests of all abilities. A newly added porte cohere will provide comfort and protection from bad weather when entering the lodge. Inside, guests will be greeted with a transformed lobby, gift shop, and coffee bar.

Wilson Lodge’s dining spaces are also undergoing a major transformation and will feature a reimagination of menu items and service levels. Hickman Lounge will also receive updates.

“These renovations will enhance the level of comfort, ambiance, and service that we provide our guests. We are committed to providing a new experience for our guests while also honoring Oglebay’s rich history.” – Wheeling Park Commission President & CEO, Bob Peckenpaugh

During the renovation period, guests and patrons seeking lodging, dining and spa services can access the temporary main lobby at the Lakeside entrance. Simply follow the signage as you arrive at Wilson Lodge and park near the temporary entrance. Come enjoy the elegant transformation of Hickman Lounge as it will now serve as the Bar & Grill for the lodge offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options (Glassworks Grill and the Ihlenfeld Dining Room have temporarily closed).

The renovation costs are partially covered by a grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA). The Oglebay Foundation will also play a crucial role in securing the remaining funds through its “Forever Yours: The Campaign for An Enduring Oglebay.” This campaign aims to gather philanthropic support for significant renovations across Oglebay.
