Get Ready To Roar

Experience one of the most exciting new zoo attractions in West Virginia with the arrival of lions at the Oglebay Good Zoo in Wheeling. Opening in 2027, this immersive exhibit will offer guests the chance to see lions up close while learning about wildlife conservation and habitat preservation.

Located just an hour from Pittsburgh and within easy driving distance of Columbus and Cleveland, this new experience will make Oglebay one of the top destinations for families looking for things to do in West Virginia.

A One-of-a-Kind Lion Experience

First-of-its-Kind Zoo Experience
The Oglebay Good Zoo will be the first AZA-accredited zoo in the United States to offer a close-up lion experience in a natural, immersive setting designed for both education and guest engagement.

One of the Largest Lion Habitats in the Region
This expansive habitat will be one of the largest lion exhibits in the eastern United States—and the only one of its kind in West Virginia—giving guests a rare opportunity to observe lions in a thoughtfully designed environment.
